Braves Marching Band Performs at Football State Championship
π Good morning Braves! What a night last night. We are still reveling in the joy! It goes without saying how meaningful the football team’s win was to our community, but as music boosters, we want to share this moment for our marching band, too!
Every summer, our marching band students have the opportunity to watch Drum Corps International performances at the Pro Football Hall of Fame stadium. These are world class, award-winning ensembles that inspire our students year-round. So, when our students saw that our team was on it’s way to the HOF, they got excited about their own chance to perform there.
And last night was perfection! As the home team, the band got to do pre-game where they played the “Star Spangled Banner”, IVHS fight song, “Hang On Sloopy”, and “Handclap”. At halftime they performed the first three movements of the show that they performed at the OMEA marching band state competition this year, “Artworks”.
It was an amazing football season and an amazing night. Thank you so much to everyone who cheered the Braves on, near or far. Thank you to our volunteers who helped on and off the field. And thank you to our students, who inspire us with their hard work and determination. GO BRAVES! β€οΈππ€
