Have you ever noticed those colorful cords on some of our marchers’ uniforms? These special cords, called Cords of Distinction, represent excellence in 5 key areas:
Red Cord (Steadfastness & Reliability): Earned through 4 years of band class and participation in 3 special band events over 3 years.
White Cord (Spirit): Earned by epitomizing what marching band represents. These students display the attitude our band needs to succeed while continuously improving themselves and helping others.
Gold Cord (Class A Superior): Earned by achieving a superior rating in a Class A solo, demonstrating dedication, time, and hard work.
Silver Cord (Service): Awarded for completing a project that benefits the band in some way.
Dual Color Red/Silver Cord (Dedication & Service): New this year! This cord is earned after completing 50 volunteer hours toward the band.
Congratulations to all cord awardees!
